When is the race?
The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay, 5K and Kids Marathon will be held Sunday, April 28, 2013.

Can I register on the day of the race?
No, there is no race day registration. If entries are still available after online registration closes, late registration for available spots in any of the races will be held at the Health & Fitness Expo.
How can I check to ensure that I am registered?
You will receive an email confirmation within minutes of completing your online registration transaction. Click here for confirmation.
Can I switch my registration from one race to another?
You may change your race until the race sells out. You will be charged a $10 service fee plus the balance of the registration fee if you are moving up a race. You will be charged a $10 service fee if you are moving down a race.
What happens if I register and then am unable to participate?
If you are a registered Marathon or Half Marathon participant and are unable to participate, you may defer your race registration by sending an email here. Submission of this form forfeits your race registration and guarantees your registration for the same event the next year. You will not receive a refund. The deadline to defer your entry is the last day of the Expo.

Can I pick up my packet on race day?
There is no packet pickup on race day. Packet pickup will be held at the Health & Fitness Expo. Packets will NOT be mailed.
What do I need to bring with me to pick up my packet?
Each participant will receive a final confirmation sent via email and mail (if you provided a valid mailing address during registration). Bring a photo ID and printed copy of your confirmation to the EXPO to pick up your packet. If for any reason you do not receive or misplace your final confirmation, please visit the registration area inside the EXPO. There will be designated stations where you will be able to get a copy of your final confirmation by presenting your state-issued photo ID.
Can a friend pick up my packet for me?
Yes. There is a designated area on your final confirmation that allows you to release your packet to someone else. Your friend will need to bring a hard copy of the final confirmation with your signature in the designated area in order to retrieve your packet. Your friend must show his or her state-issued photo ID in order to pick up your packet.
When will I receive my final confirmation?
Final confirmations will be sent via USPS in April. A final confirmation email will also be sent to the email address you provided on your registration form.
Do I need my final confirmation?
You must present a printed copy of your confirmation email to pick up your packet at the EXPO. We also ask that you review the information printed on the card for accuracy. This is the perfect time to let us know if your address has changed or will change, and if your gender, age and wheelchair status is correct. BIB NUMBERS AND TIMING TAG (CHIP)
How can I find out my bib number?
You will be notified of your assigned bib number when you receive your final confirmation mid-April. Bib number assignments are not available via email and will only be released with final confirmations. If for any reason you do not receive or misplace your final confirmation, please visit the registration area inside the Expo. There will be designated stations where you will be able to get a copy of your final confirmation by presenting your state-issued photo ID.
TIMING
We use the Chronotrack timing system to ensure that everyone receives an accurate time. Per USATF Rule 245.1, Open Men's and Women's and Master Men's and Women's top three awards in the Marathon and the Half Marathon will be based on gun time (the order in which the athletes cross the finish line). Age group and Relay awards will be based on timing system time (the actual time elapsed between an athlete reaching the starting line and finish line). Digital clocks will be located at each mile and at the 5K splits to indicate the unofficial running time. The digital clocks at the finish line display your unofficial time. Official time is determined by the Chronotrack timing system.
Do I need to turn my D-Tag in after the race?
Your D-Tag is disposable and does not need to be turned in. The Velcro timing tag used by Relay teams is also disposable and does not need to be turned in.
WEATHER
What is the weather typically like on race day?
Famous Oklahoman, Will Rogers, said that if you don’t like the weather in Oklahoma, wait 5 minutes! It could be cool and damp, it could be warm and dry, and it will likely be windy.
What happens if it rains?
The race will go on regardless of precipitation. The race will only be delayed or cancelled if weather conditions present imminent danger to participants.

Where does the race start and finish?
The race begins at the front of the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum at 5th and Harvey Avenue and ends two blocks east of the Memorial at 7th and Broadway. Click here for a course map.
What time do the races start?
The wheelchair athletes begin at 6:25am. The Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay begin at 6:30am, the Memorial 5K begins at about 6:40am and the Kids Marathon begins at 8:15am.
Where can I meet my family and friends after the race?
The easiest way to find your family and friends after the race is to have a plan beforehand. An easy place to meet up post-race is the Runner Reunite Area on 5th Street. The Reunion Area is marked with towers for each race and runners are encouraged to ask their family and friends to meet them under the sign for their event. Be sure to be a part of the Post-Race Party located just feet from the finish line, and hang out with friends and family after the race. Pick up some Official Memorial Marathon merchandise, grab some more food and make your way to the Post-Race Concert.
Where should I park?
There are several privately owned parking lots close to the start and finish lines, many of which provide free or discounted parking. Please do not park in any residential, church or business driveways or parking lots that are not listed on the parking map. You can be towed. Click here for a parking map.
What time should I get there on race day?
There’s lots going on before the race kicks off. Join us at 5:30am at the Survivor Tree for an inspiring pre-race sunrise service. Announcements start at 6:00am and include the 168 seconds of silence that runners tell us create the most moving race start anywhere. Cheer on the wheelchair athletes as their race begins at 6:25am before you take off at 6:30am.
Are shuttles available?
There will be shuttles running a continual loop to and from designated hotels and the start/finish area. There will also be shuttles running continual loops to and from the start area to the Relay Exchanges. Shuttle schedules will be posted as we get closer to the race.
Where are the best spectator venues?
THE START - If you've experienced it, nothing more need be said. Like no other in the world, as poignant and breathtaking as you'll find. A must!
BRICKTOWN - (Mile 1-2) As runners get settled in, anticipation is high. The race has not begun to string out yet, so the effect of seeing thousands of runners all at once is stunning.
STATE CAPITOL COMPLEX - (Mile 3) The Oklahoma State Capitol is a beautiful setting and the ease of access make this a perfect place to view the early stages of the race.
SPARROW PARK / EDGEMERE PARK - (Mile 5-6) Robinson entrance from 36th. This is a notable stomping ground for runners as the road winds through historic neighborhoods with room to view from east side of park.
CROWN HEIGHTS: GORILLA HILL - (Mile 6-7) 38th- 40th and Shartel; just beyond 1st relay handoff. As the half and full marathoners get settled in they appreciate seeing friendly faces.
NICHOLS HILLS / WAVERLY AVE. - (Mile 11) between Wilshire and Britton: From here, runners are well spread out and easy to view. A festive neighborhood atmosphere always abounds; these folks are used to runners zooming by, and appreciate the efforts.
NICHOLS HILLS / GRAND BLVD. - (Mile 19-20) Park at Nichols Hills Plaza or lot at 63rd and Grand. Can get very near course and see how race is unfolding, and easily proceed downtown to watch the finish.
CLASSEN BLVD. - (Mile 20-21) Between 63rd and 50th. This is a long stretch on Classen and includes the 20-Mile mark, which is an important point mentally for the runners to have support.
18TH AND CLASSEN - (Mile 23-24) Just before the course turns east towards Broadway Avenue and finish. Historic Mesta Park greets spectators and runners, and leads to one of the oldest, most scenic neighborhood venues-Heritage Hills. Crowd fervor begins to swell, and runners know it, as they know they're coming close.
THE FINISH - 12th and Broadway Avenue on South to the finish at 5th. Seeing the mass of humanity on the straightaway, finishing to the cheers of enthusiastic crowds. Every emotion imaginable - awe, empathy, surprise and accomplishment can be witnessed and shared. This is the perfect finish to a perfect day!
BAGGAGE CHECK
What type of bag may I check?
You will receive a gear check bag with your T-shirt at packet pickup. This bag is the ONLY bag you may check before the race. The bag is 17" x 21" in size, clear in color and has a drawstring closure. No other bags are accepted at gear check. Please complete the gear check information form and insert face out in your bag for easy retrieval after the race.
Where is the baggage check located?
Gear check opens at 5:00am and is located at 7th and Harvey Avenue.
How do I check my bag and claim it once the race is over?
Gear check is available for Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Relay participants. You will find a baggage check tag attached to the top of your race bib. The tag is printed with your bib number. Detach the tag and attach it to your bag, and bring your bag to gear check at 7th and Harvey Avenue. Relay runners will check their gear at the start of their relay leg and pick up their gear at the end of their relay leg. Marathon and Half Marathon participants will pick up their gear at 5th and Broadway. An additional baggage claim ticket is attached to the bottom of your race bib. After the race, visit the baggage check area and present your baggage claim ticket to retrieve your bag.
What happens to my bag if I forget to claim it after the race?
Gear check closes at 2:00 p.m. on race day and all bags must be picked up before that time.
What if I lose something at the race?
Lost-and-found is located at the Gear Check booth at 7th and Harvey Avenue. Items discarded along the race route will be collected and donated to local shelters.
How many bags can I check?
Due to space limitations, we are only able to check one bag per runner. Baggage check will only accept the gear check bag you receive with your race packet.
Can I leave jewelry, computers or other valuables at gear check?
We strongly recommend that you leave your valuables at home. The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is not responsible for lost or stolen property, including any and all property checked at the gear check.
COURSE SUPPORT
How long are the streets closed?
Streets along the course route are closed and supported by police and course marshals from 6:30am to 1:00pm.
Why is there a time limit?
To comply with the permits and agreements the Memorial Marathon has with the cities of Oklahoma City, the Village and Nichols Hills, streets on the course route must reopen to cars on a set schedule.
Where are the Water Stops, Medical Stations and Port-o-Potties?
Official Memorial Marathon Water Stops, manned by volunteer groups, are located every mile along the course. In addition to entertainment and enthusiastic cheering, each Water Stop provides water and Lemon-Lime Powerade to participants. Some Water Stops also provide oranges, pretzels and other snacks. Many neighborhood and other groups set up their own water stops and provide a variety of drink and snack options. GU is available at mile 14. Medical Stations are located every other mile beginning at mile 5, and every mile from mile 19 to the finish. Port-o-Potties are located every mile starting at mile 2. All Medical Stations and Official Water Stops are marked on the course map.
Are there items prohibited on the course?
Here is a partial list of what is NOT allowed on the timed course: runners going backward; runners not wearing a bib; animals of any kind; bicycles; baby joggers; strollers; roller skates and rollerblades; and any wheeled vehicles other than wheelchairs. In accordance with USATF guidelines, wheelchair athletes must wear helmets. Runners or walkers participating in the Memorial 5K or Kids Marathon may push strollers. We ask that you line up at the back of the corral with your strollers.
SCORING
Is gun or tag time (chip time) used to determine prizes?
Per USATF rules, gun time is used to determine winners. Tag time (chip time) is used to determine all age-group winners and other award recipients.
Will there be an awards ceremony?
Awards are presented to the male and female Marathon and Half Marathon winners at the Finish Line in a brief awards ceremony.
Are there other awards?
Age group, Relay, and Clydesdale/Filly awards will be shipped to you by FedEx after the event.
QUALIFYING FOR BOSTON
Can my Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon time qualify me for the Boston Marathon?
Yes! The Boston Marathon accepts qualifying times from the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. Qualifying times for the Boston Marathon vary by age group. The Memorial Marathon will send a complete list of finishers to the BAA about a week after the race.

How do I submit my time to the Boston Marathon?
When registering for the Boston Marathon, enter your finishing time, finishing place, race name, and location and date of the race in the section entitled "Qualification Information." Be sure to indicate if the time you entered is gun time or tag time (chip time).
Will the Boston Marathon check to confirm my time?
Yes. The Boston Marathon automatically receives a list of all official finishers of the Memorial Marathon and their tag (chip) and gun times. The time entered on your Boston Marathon registration will be checked against the official time that is on file. For questions regarding qualification for the Boston Marathon, please contact the Boston Athletic Association.
MERCHANDISE
Where do I get my medal and Finisher’s shirt after the race?
All finishers in all races will receive a medal after crossing the finish line. Marathon runners will use the "finisher’s shirt" ticket attached to the bottom of their bib to claim their Marathon finisher’s shirt. Finisher’s shirts are available to full Marathon participants.
Relay participants are to pick up their medal at the conclusion of their leg. Each Relay Exchange is stocked with Relay medals. Do Not pick up your Relay medal at the main finish line at 7th and Broadway unless you run the last leg of the Relay.
Will I be able to purchase race merchandise on race day?
Yes! Runners may purchase official race merchandise on race day at the Merchandise Booth located on 5th street in the Finishers Plaza. Click here for official Memorial Marathon merchandise.
Is there swag?
Runners in all races receive a commemorate participant T-shirt and a beautiful, hand-cast bronze finisher’s medal. Marathon finishers receive finisher shirts. All adult participants receive a link to their Virtual Goody Bag, full of offers and coupons. Kids Marathon participants receive a Goody Bag. All participants receive our Oklahoma hospitality, food and drinks along the course and at the finish line. Vendors at the Health & Fitness Expo often hand out free samples.
Can I have or buy an extra T-shirt?
We can only provide one T-shirt per registered participant. There is a variety of Official Memorial Marathon merchandise available for sale at the Expo, in the merchandise tent on race day and online.
SPECTATORS
Can runners be tracked on the course?
The Memorial Marathon has an App available for Android or iPhone and is available free in each respective app store. Runners will be tracked at their splits and can be followed by a name or bib number search.

Why Should I Raise Money?
The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is a private non-profit organization, and does not receive any annual operating funds from the federal, state or local government. Museum admissions, store sales, the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, earnings from an endowment and private fundraising allow the Memorial and Museum to be self-sustaining.
Gifts to the Memorial will change lives. On the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial, in the Memorial Museum and through our education and outreach programs, visitors and participants see first-hand the impact of violence, the strength and resilience of those affected, and ways in which they can change their world. What if I lose something at the race?
Lost-and-found is located at the Gear Check booth at 7th and Harvey Avenue. Items discarded along the race route will be collected and donated to local shelters.
How many bags can I check?
Due to space limitations, we are only able to check one bag per runner. Baggage check will only accept the gear check bag you receive with your race packet.
Can I leave jewelry, computers or other valuables at gear check?
We strongly recommend that you leave your valuables at home. The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is not responsible for lost or stolen property, including any and all property checked at the gear check.
COURSE SUPPORT
How long are the streets closed?
Streets along the course route are closed and supported by police and course marshals from 6:30am to 1:00pm.
Why is there a time limit?
To comply with the permits and agreements the Memorial Marathon has with the cities of Oklahoma City, the Village and Nichols Hills, streets on the course route must reopen to cars on a set schedule.
Where are the Water Stops, Medical Stations and Port-o-Potties?
Official Memorial Marathon Water Stops, manned by volunteer groups, are located every mile along the course. In addition to entertainment and enthusiastic cheering, each Water Stop provides water and Lemon-Lime Powerade to participants. Some Water Stops also provide oranges, pretzels and other snacks. Many neighborhood and other groups set up their own water stops and provide a variety of drink and snack options. GU is available at mile 14. Medical Stations are located every other mile beginning at mile 5, and every mile from mile 19 to the finish. Port-o-Potties are located every mile starting at mile 2. All Medical Stations and Official Water Stops are marked on the course map.
Are there items prohibited on the course?
Here is a partial list of what is NOT allowed on the timed course: runners going backward; runners not wearing a bib; animals of any kind; bicycles; baby joggers; strollers; roller skates and rollerblades; and any wheeled vehicles other than wheelchairs. In accordance with USATF guidelines, wheelchair athletes must wear helmets. Runners or walkers participating in the Memorial 5K or Kids Marathon may push strollers. We ask that you line up at the back of the corral with your strollers.
SCORING
Is gun or tag time (chip time) used to determine prizes?
Per USATF rules, gun time is used to determine winners. Tag time (chip time) is used to determine all age-group winners and other award recipients.
Will there be an awards ceremony?
Awards are presented to the male and female Marathon and Half Marathon winners at the Finish Line in a brief awards ceremony.
Are there other awards?
Age group, Relay, and Clydesdale/Filly awards will be shipped to you by FedEx after the event.
QUALIFYING FOR BOSTON
Can my Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon time qualify me for the Boston Marathon?
Yes! The Boston Marathon accepts qualifying times from the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. Qualifying times for the Boston Marathon vary by age group. The Memorial Marathon will send a complete list of finishers to the BAA about a week after the race.

How do I submit my time to the Boston Marathon?
When registering for the Boston Marathon, enter your finishing time, finishing place, race name, and location and date of the race in the section entitled "Qualification Information." Be sure to indicate if the time you entered is gun time or tag time (chip time).
Will the Boston Marathon check to confirm my time?
Yes. The Boston Marathon automatically receives a list of all official finishers of the Memorial Marathon and their tag (chip) and gun times. The time entered on your Boston Marathon registration will be checked against the official time that is on file. For questions regarding qualification for the Boston Marathon, please contact the Boston Athletic Association.
MERCHANDISE
Where do I get my medal and Finisher’s shirt after the race?
All finishers in all races will receive a medal after crossing the finish line. Marathon runners will use the "finisher’s shirt" ticket attached to the bottom of their bib to claim their Marathon finisher’s shirt. Finisher’s shirts are available to full Marathon participants.
Relay participants are to pick up their medal at the conclusion of their leg. Each Relay Exchange is stocked with Relay medals. Do Not pick up your Relay medal at the main finish line at 7th and Broadway unless you run the last leg of the Relay.
Will I be able to purchase race merchandise on race day?
Yes! Runners may purchase official race merchandise on race day at the Merchandise Booth located on 5th street in the Finishers Plaza. Click here for official Memorial Marathon merchandise.
Is there swag?
Runners in all races receive a commemorate participant T-shirt and a beautiful, hand-cast bronze finisher’s medal. Marathon finishers receive finisher shirts. All adult participants receive a link to their Virtual Goody Bag, full of offers and coupons. Kids Marathon participants receive a Goody Bag. All participants receive our Oklahoma hospitality, food and drinks along the course and at the finish line. Vendors at the Health & Fitness Expo often hand out free samples.
Can I have or buy an extra T-shirt?
We can only provide one T-shirt per registered participant. There is a variety of Official Memorial Marathon merchandise available for sale at the Expo, in the merchandise tent on race day and online.
SPECTATORS
Can runners be tracked on the course?
The Memorial Marathon has an App available for Android or iPhone and is available free in each respective app store. Runners will be tracked at their splits and can be followed by a name or bib number search.

How do I raise money?
The best and easiest way to raise money is to get Tied to Our Mission by clicking the link on the front page! Using this page, you will be able to set a fundraising goal, email potential donors, keep track of your donations and send thank you emails. Can I raise money for the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum if I am not participating in a race?

Why Should I Raise Money?
The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is a private non-profit organization, and does not receive any annual operating funds from the federal, state or local government. Museum admissions, store sales, the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, earnings from an endowment and private fundraising allow the Memorial and Museum to be self-sustaining.
Gifts to the Memorial will change lives. On the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial, in the Memorial Museum and through our education and outreach programs, visitors and participants see first-hand the impact of violence, the strength and resilience of those affected, and ways in which they can change their world. We provide experiences that teach children and adults about the real-life consequences of their actions (or inactions) on others, and ways to find peaceful resolutions to their own daily struggles.
