The Marathon is closing on line registration for volunteers for
the OKC Memorial Marathon. If you wish
to volunteer you may stop by the VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN area at the Expo to sign up
for a volunteer area. We will still be needing assistance in some areas and we
can provide you further information at the Expo. Thanks for your help!

Expo Set-up Crew
Do you like to help but not have the crowd?? Volunteer to help set up the Expo. Set-up begins Thursday at Noon and goes until the work is done. This includes helping setup Tshirt pickup, kids marathon registration, volunteer checkin and other areas.
Kids Marathon Helpers!
There is always a need for help with the children. We try to make this a memorable event for the children, while at the same time ensuring their safety. Help is always needed to ensure their safety on the 1.2 mile course, in the finish line area and during the pre-race festivities. If you love children this is your place to be!
T-Shirt Pick-Up
Volunteers greet runners and distribute goodie bags, tshirts and posters. Opportunities available Friday April 23rd, 2010 through Saturday April 24th, 2010.
Packet Pick-up
Participants will pick up their packets at the Expo in the Cox Center starting Friday, April 23rd, 2010 at 12:00 PM,. Packet Pick-up will remain available Friday, until 9:00 PM, and then open again at 9:00 on Saturday, April 24th, 2010 and stay available until 6:00 PM. Volunteers will be responsible for handing out packets to the participants. Several shifts are available and we will work with your schedule!
Finish Line Set-up
Come help us on Saturday, April 24th, 2010 from 10am-8 pm on Broadway, between 6th and 4th Streets. We will be setting up the fencing for the finish line and hanging up banners.
Course Marshal (Intersection and Runner
Control)
Take a front seat and watch the runners with this
volunteer opportunity! We need people to direct runners at intersections
throughout the course of the race. Shifts vary throughout the day
depending on the location. Volunteers are needed for numerous shifts
Sunday, April 25, 2010 between 6:30 am-1:30pm. Intersection captains are
also needed to recruit others to help with intersection control. The
"Captains" will assist the volunteer coordinator in placing people at
intersections throughout the day. Please feel free to call for more
information!
Green
Ambassadors
The
Memorial Marathon is going green! Our main initiative
for this year is to focus on diverting as much waste as possible from
the
landfill through recycling efforts. Volunteers will assist in
collecting
recyclables in the finish line area, serving the 23,000+ participants
expected
for the race.
Finish
Line
Interested in
handing out medals, food and mylar blankets to the finishers? How about
acting as a "catcher" to the finishers? Many runners need a shoulder to
lean on after crossing the finish line. Shifts are available Sunday,
April 25, 2010 from 5:30 am- to 2:30 pm.
Course Breakdown
Course
breakdown begins soon after the race ends. We need help Sunday, April
25, 2010 between 12:30 pm - 5 pm. You tell us when you are available.
Finish Line Breakdown
Join us after the race Sunday, April 25,
2010 from 2:00-5:00pm to remove banners and fencing, load trucks, and
clean up.
